Who’s Coaching Your Child?

In just five days, USA Softball of Colorado will begin accepting registrations for the 2020 Softball Season. It will be open to Coaches, and Players. We are an affiliate of USA Softball, the National Governing Body of Softball in the United States and a United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee voting member.

All coaches that participate in USA Softball shall meet the following requirements a) registration b) pass a USA SOFTBALL Background Check Screening Policy c) SafeSport certification d) ACE (Achieve, Certify, Educate) Coaching Education Program

Providing a safe environment for the athletes and their families is our number one priority.

USA Softball and the U.S. Center for SafeSport is committed to building a sport community where participants can work and learn together in an atmosphere free of emotional, physical, and sexual misconduct.

As the Commissioner in the state of Colorado I am not only responsible for promoting USA Softball but the sport of Softball. We strongly encourage parents who have children participating in youth softball mandate their coach(s) also meet these same requirements. It does not matter which tournaments or teams they play ball with. I want parents to understand having their coach USA Softball registered is really for the well-being of the kids. It is ironic to me that some parents will perform a more comprehensive investigation of their handyman than a coach to whom they entrust their child.

I just want to make sure you know that as a USA Softball Commissioner I offered this to you. If your kids come to me and say, “did you ever offer this level of safety to my mother,” I’m going to say, “yes, yes I did.”

Being a USA Softball Registered and Certified Coach is the Right Thing To Do!
